What can I expect when I get braces the first time?
We always ensure that we provide a comfortable, pain-free fitting process. During your consultation, we will educate you about how to keep your braces clean and in top condition. As your teeth start to shift, you may experience minor discomfort; however, this will soon pass.
What happens when I get my braces removed?
The process of removing braces is fairly quick and comfortable. Your dentist will remove any brackets and bands, before polishing off residual cement and glue. You’ll leave with a straight and beautiful smile to celebrate!
What is a retainer and how long do I have to wear one for?
Once your orthodontic treatment is complete, you will need to wear a retainer. The retainer is worn to maintain the alignment of your smile. It also prevents your teeth from reverting to their previous positions. Typically, retainers are worn as part of your maintenance routine indefinitely.
How long will treatment time take?
This question depends on which orthodontic option you choose, as well as your individual mouth. Every patient is different, as is the length of treatment time. Rest assured that we will never extend treatment time unnecessarily. On the other hand, we won’t rush your treatment.
